Electrolux Design Center integrates ICEM Surf into its product design and development process.

Southampton. 18 April, 2006. –
ICEM Ltd., the leading surface modelling, surface model validation and design visualisation software developer, has announced that its Scandinavian business partner, Nanco Data AB, has signed a contract with Electrolux, of Stockholm, Sweden for the delivery and implementation of the ICEM Surf software suite.

The latest version of the software, ICEM Surf 4.5, will be implemented within the Electrolux Design Center where it will be integrated with the company’s existing CAD/CAM facilities and product development processes. The software will be used in the design development of the aesthetic aspects of the Electrolux range of world-leading household appliances, which includes cookers, refrigerators, washing machines, vacuum cleaners and many other similar electrical items.

“Our goal was to find a software solution that provides the tools for generating aesthetic, Class A surfaces with optimum quality, at the same time as reducing the time needed to arrive at the point at which the data can be released to manufacturing,” said Tove Forsberg, lead surfacing engineer for Electrolux product design. “ICEM Surf is a mature software suite with an extensive set of tools and modules that gives us exactly what we were looking for,” she added.

“Electrolux has a long tradition of using high-end CAD/CAM software tools in its product development and manufacturing processes,” said Patric Nilson, CEO, Nanco Data AB. “Their selection of ICEM Surf confirms to us that, with this software, we have the right tools and are on the right track with our solutions for those companies whose products demand Class A surfaces.”
